- and to the ongoing ideas of management today
The Mini MBA – Module 1:
Strategic management and leadership is about being forward-looking and thereby connecting the present with the future. It is about understanding both the mission and the vision of the corporation, and developing strategies and plans to help bring the corporation safely into the future.
Strategy is about getting ready for challenges ahead. Management is about connecting the present with the future. It is about understanding both the mission and the vision of the corporation, and developing strategies and plans to help bring the corporation into the future. Strategic management is decisive for the future prospects of any corporation, and in this module, we focus on key concepts and models within this subject. In general, this module centers on the different complications regarding choices of strategy in both national and global perspective. Corporations exist in highly turbulent surroundings linked to the strategic situation and the management defining the given organization. What is the strategic situation of the corporation and agenda? How are strategic analyses carried out? And how are strategic decisions and initiatives implemented in the organization? The Mini MBA – Module 2:
In this module we look at the big picture: Globalization, digitization, global trends and disruption. And we try to answer the two questions: How can you as a leader create a platform for development of your organization based on the new trends and megatrends? And how do you best ensure your organization's survival in the future?
If strategy is a description of what you want to achieve with your organization, the business model is a description of how to do it. In other terms: If strategy is something you work with once a year, the business model is what you work with every single day! That is why the International Mini MBA's second module focuses on business models and how to work with those as a leader. And the purpose of the module is - in all its simplicity - to get ready for this work! Therefore, we begin to zoom out on the mega trends that will affect your reality and your ability to achieve the strategic goals set up for your organization over the next few years. There are a number of specific issues that either will or already do affect your organization. By looking into these relationships, you will be better able to set a clear direction for (and with) your colleagues. We introduce tools that enable you to systematically look at the individual parts of your business and the relationships between them. As a leader, you can use these tools to discuss challenges with your management colleagues and create a platform for engagement and communication that will make it clear to the whole organization where you are heading. The Mini MBA – Module 3: In this module we focus on personnel management, personnel leadership - and on yourself as a leader. What kind of a leader are you? How do you manage and lead your team? And how do you, in fact, manage yourself?
Personnel Management and Human Resource Management focus on the management of people and the development of organizations. People are the center of any organization. People, competences, and culture along with technology, infrastructure, and so on, are at the core of all the different results that the modern organization creates. People are at the center of any organization. Naturally, many problems and solution models are designed to deal with people, whether as individuals, groups or the entire organization. MRM, leadership, followership, co-operation, and dialogue are all important factors of managing people in the organization. The individual and the relations between people take center stage. This subject area deals with HRM as a concept and the aspects of measuring its practical execution. The philosophies of man, organization and society are important themes. Group processes, conflicts, relations, etc. are the factors that characterizes the everyday life of any organization. How do you manage the development of people and groups of people? How do you work with meetings, negotiations, conflicts, dialogues, managerial development, etc.? Themes of this module:

The Mini MBA – Module 4: As leaders we need to fully understand changes. In this module we ask the questions: What characterizes changes? How do they affect employees and the organization? How do we implement changes? And how do we manage resilience?
Change is a basic condition of the modern corporation. A few years back, the conversation was only on the desired changes of the given organization. Today, it is necessary to consider the effects on the organization of changes developing outside the company – changes that are seldom expected. In this module, we focus on all kinds of changes that may affect the organization, and we emphasize the understanding of people’s reactions to and engagement with changes. Strategy and change are two sides of the same coin. Change is more a condition than the exception. Any organization (and its leaders) must be able to understand and deal with changes, when coming both from external and internal sources. Therefore, this subject area teaches you the actual concept of change – the physical, systemic, intellectual, and emotional aspects of change and disruption. How can we understand the interconnectedness of these different facets of change? Risk management and technological management are also subjects which we touch upon here. Towards the end, we will briefly discuss the concept of resilience in corporations and individuals. Themes of this module:

The Mini MBA – Module 5: Understanding your organization's economy is key to becoming a great leader. In this module we look into financial controlling, measuring results and business development. And we do this to enable you to support your management decisions with economic validity.
Management and Organizing is about creating results. Productivity means resource deployment and the creation of results in the organization. Economy, measurements, and understanding financial statements are important themes. What does the concept of the bottom line entail for the modern organizations? Often, the term “business” is used to describe a corporation. But which business model and what kind of business thinking characterizes your organization? Sometimes, financial circumstances and management are viewed as two sides of the same coin, and financial statements, performance reviews, and the understanding of growth consequently take center stage. By now, multiple other statements and reviews support the exclusively financial statement. In this regard, measuring is important: What should your company measure and how? And how do you communicate your results? Productivity, efficiency, and quality are three coherent and important concepts. How well does the organization utilize the necessary resources in order to create quality and satisfaction for clients, buyers, and users? Themes of this module:

Mini MBA – Module 6: How do you as a leader communicate your thougths, visions and plans to your team or to top management? In this last module we dive into the art of personal leadership communication.
Its not nearly enough to be an expert in strategy and management theory. The succesfull leader is also an expert in personal communication! As a leader you have to encourage and inspire your team. And you have to convince top management that your ideas, suggestions and visions are valuable and worth listening to. This takes the right communication skills, and we will guide you through these in this module. We also focus on how your organization communicates. What can we do to brand the organization better? And how do we manage our market communication? Finally, we recap the most essential elements of change communication. Themes of this module:
